1999 Specialized S-Works FSR XC M4 Build Thread

I used a no-name rear disc adapter on one version of my FSR-XC build and it worked OK. I looked for that shark fin adapter but they're impossible to find! Good info on the chainstay - do you think that was a Y2K model update?
There is plenty out there but people do not sell them enough to know their true value, I swapped 2 sets of Manitou forks for mine.

Damn, the forks I was intending on using are 120mm NOT 100mm🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️, well this is annoying. I guess back to the weight weenies build then, I shall have it finished in what? About 2060?? 💰💰💰

I think this messes up the geo wayyy to much!!!

That will mess up the build for sure, but must be quite comfy with enough spacers😉

(Btw, I wouldn’t go with those sid forks, too new I would say, I know a guy trying to sell a set of carbon black box sid forks off his litespeed(they’re the dark blue version, I think that would look good with the yellow!)

They look awesome but too flexy I’m afraid, even for me at 65kg, I road a red set throughout summer last year on an S-Works M2 and I can tell you it’s scary lol.

Got some FOX RLT’s on the way to replace, 80mm I think but big stantions.

shame.

So are you doing a weightweenie build or not?

I think it would be very interesting.

Was searching a bit and found a light and nice derailleur:

Stupidly rare but probably less expensive than a Paul’s one🙂

Just found out I can reduce these forks to 80mm!! Wahoo!

It’s been a while, I scrapped all the previous ideas I had. This is where I’m at. Just cables to go. Going white as white = PRO
