Now, I admit that I normally can only be found languishing in the 1980's. But, once upon a time before cynicism crept in, I was a fully paid up member of the full suss Grrrrrrrrr club.
Picked up at a not so local car boot sale, it was almost original down to the worn WTB tyres. A bit of fettling found that although care worn, it was mechanically sound...
...except for the worn out cassette
...and the middle ring
A few bits - ironically from the same car-boot a fortnight before - from the spares bin added Truvativ stem/ cranks and some unused Continentals. New chain and cassette plus all the cables put it back in action. After a few rides, bars ended up as Azonic with a spare U.S.E post.
So, its not bad. The rebound off those Judy C's is a bit clunky but the rear RST shock still does what its supposed to do. The Diatech cable disc still works without fuss but the totally floating caliper rattles like a goodun.
Riding over dried out horse tracks would be a teeth rattler or a careful observation ride on an old rigid but on a full suss, you just point and shoot. The suspension takes it all away and you end up looking for lumps and bumps to jump off...
Anyway, here it is. It only owes me a few quid so it will hang a round for now unless I get any decent PMs that is...
