1998 Giant Boulder

Hello,

I know this bike was Giant’s budget mtb but it only cost me £20, i think it is a good bike to do my first full rebuild on.
So far i have removed everything from the frame.
It has had a very poor paint job at some point in its life so i have prepped and primed the frame, fork and stem.
Ordered new bb, chain , headset and 1x7 chainring and wide range cassette.

Looking interesting, I'm curious what colour it's going to be.

I think it belongs in the 1998+ forum, right?

Now painted, new decals and clear coated.
Not the best paint job but 100x better than it was.

New BB, ebay special cranks, wide narrow chainring fitted and some plastic pedals i had lying about.
Waiting on the new headset, wheels and tyres to arrive.
Rear brakes cleaned up and refitted.
Derailleur cleaned up and refitted.
Not sure about the tyre tube chainstay protector but it cost nothing…
Handlebars, stem, forks and seatpost all painted matt black.

Will probably upgrade some parts eventually but will do just now.

Getting there.

Yes it should be in the 98+ forum, my bad!

Still waiting on wheels and headset but mocked the bike up with the forks, seatpost and fidlock water bottle.
Need a seat and some grips yet.
Happy with how it looks, blue and black go well together.
