For your viewing pleasure My 1998 Mt Tam
It's mostly stock, and I still have the velociraptor kevlar tires if needed.
What's been changed: Stem, shorter than the short one that came on it. (still have),
seatpost. I needed to shorten it up as i'm not very big. so zero offset.
seat, cuz the other one was a victim of time.
Tires, as to not wear out the stock ones.
wheels, cranks, brakes, shifting, derailleurs, forks, bars, reflectors, and the black spoke protector are all stock

Lovely bike!

I was over in Oakland picking up a load of steel and saw a garage sale sign.
Turned the corner and I was in Berkeley. The usual stuff was out there and this bike.
I started chatting with her about it and it turns out it was a gift.
You gotta remember the economics of Berkeley, the little house I was stopped at was probably 2.5 million or more. The people here are not hurting in any sense. There is no cheap side of Berkeley.
So she got it as a gift, I asked why she didn't ride it, was she not a bike rider?
She walks me to the back of her Garage and there are three full suspension bikes, she considered the Tam a beater and didn't ride it. She wanted 100 bucks, I gave her what was in my wallet
