1998 853 Explosif

People on here have said an 853 Explosif frame is 'worth' up to £250, but this is the third time this guy has tried to sell this and the best bid he's had so far is £113 which didn't make his reserve. Five hours to go this time.

Maybe it's that he only has one transaction?

Just maybe 113 is all its worth to someone! it does not matter if you think its worth 250 to you, its only worth what some one is willing to pay for it. so in my eyes if it reached 113 last time thats all the person was prepared to pay.
This is not a rant it just gets me some times, how things are over inflated, look at the house prices it all went crazy over the last 5 yrs, an now prices are dropping, same might happen to bikes, parts etc.

£250 for an explosif

Hi Anthony,
I don't think this is worth £250 either, rather that two sold for that price last summer, perhaps in better condition and perhaps listed with better pictures from better rated sellers and sold against each other, raising interest.

If I didn't already have one I'd take a punt on it and maybe collect it to be sure. I bought my friends 853 explosif frame for £150.00 last year and refurbished it (costing me best part of £100). He only sold as he sourced an 18" hei hei king kahuna and he still regrets selling the explosif. I feel I paid a reasonable price, my friend now disagrees!

Regards,

Stuart

It is all about finding the right buyer at the right time. If (like me) you have no patience and want something NOW, then the price can be good, if you are appealling to an audience that quite fancies one to paint it white and SS it as a 12th bike, then the price will be lower.

He is doing the right thing though - one day someone might just take him up on it, athough not sure why he has not just put it on as a BIN with no bid option???
