1997 Rockhopper clamp size

Anyone confirm the clamp size for a FD for a 1997 Rockhopper ?

What kind of frame? A1 or CroMo ? What colour?

Cromo Red. Pretty sure it's 31.8mm just wanted to check before I bought one.

My Bike is in storage so can't check myself.

The 1997 one ? I could only guess too but I'd agree at 31.8 from that year, my 95/96/97 steel Stumpjumpers all had 31.8 band front mechs.

Adding that I had a 1998 CroMo Nitanium Rockhopper briefly, which was a 31.8mm clamp on the front mech. Close but still no cigar for the final answer.....

Just found a Specialized catalogue on here , should have checked first. Thanks for the help anyway chaps.
