1997 Kona Kula Frame Sold

I think this is a 97 or maybe a 98??? so wasn't sure which section to post As for the size...way to small for me so up for sale...it measures 18" from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube but more importantly 15" from the centre of the bb to the centre of the top tube...I am sure Kona fans will shout up what Kona describe the size as?
It has been ridden so please expect some chips, chainsuck etc and paint loss underneath the seat clamp but looks great when built up! Comes complete with a Shimano sealed bottom bracket and a headset(needs bearings and crown race). Takes a 1 18" fork. This cost around £700 new for the frame so how about 10% of that £70 plus postage? Remember this was an XTR specced bike and very cool bitd. If needed I could include a not cool but very functional and tidy Silver Suntour suss fork and a very descent Truvative chainset for free!

You are correct with your second guess of 1998, and it would be referred to as an 18" frame.

I have just noticed that the cable routing is for a 1997 frame, but the flared reinforced Headtube on your frame was introduced in 1998 :? Mmm, maybe someone has an explanation.

I had a feeling of Déjà vu when you replied here Al, and sure enough, we have discussed something similar before.

Attributes of both 1997 and 1998, although in this particular case, a definite Argos respray. The link to e-Bay still works:

Its a JE James dealer sticker....the paint is original i am sure
