1997 Kona Firemountain - Spares/Repair

Hi all,

A little while ago I bought a Kona Firemountain from a friend, 1997 model I believe, with the plan being to restore it and use it as my work bike.

However, plans change, and with the freehub deciding to give up the ghost I also discovered the rear axle was snapped - so the bike is now up for sale as I just can't spare the money at the moment to fix it.

Pics included below, the bike is in generally good condition for its age. The tyres are showing signs of wear, the brakes work well and the chain/chainset was in good working order for the few weeks I was riding it. Size is a medium/18" frame.

Would make a nice little project or could be stripped for parts. Brakes, rear mech and chainset are stx-rc items.

Any offers considered! It will need collecting, I am near to Brighton on the South Coast.

hi ya i think this needs a price or the mods will get ya,

however my advice would be to post a wanted for an axle. i also, or very shortly will have a freehub from a m737/9 that should fit , its not great but it has life left in it yet you could have for nothing, dead easy to fit with a big fat allen key

Im sure someone here would have an axle for cheap or karma.

I just bought a nos m737 rear hub for £8 posted off the bay, so you could get your bike fixed dead cheap you know
