Fuquay ‘Jerry’ - v-brake only.
STUCK SEATPOST
Ritchey Dedacciai tubing - ‘8 tube system’, I guess all of the frame!
1997, frame #9701, reportedly built for the BikeShow ‘97
1&1/8” headtube
18.75" c-t seat tube (c-c 17.5"-ish)
22.5" c-c top tube
Monostay, with gusset to headtube/downtube.
Bullet-type ends to stays, look cool.
Decals in places peeling, but all present should you wish to trace and reproduce.
2x bottle and Crud catcher mounts
Another mount under front mech position
All bolts move.
Lovely metallic fade paint job.
Paint has the odd bit of surface rust on areas of cable rub and elsewhere, a few areas of ‘worming’. Bit of sun fade, but tends to blend with the paint fades and isn’t too noticeable. Overall I’d say very passable. I’ve given a wipe over but no concerted polishing - wanted to show an honest picture.
No deep rust or bigger chips, chain rub evident.
Even with the seatpost, think rarity should make £200 plus post a reasonable ask. Now half that price!!

Thanks for the comments chaps. Gotta be a buyer for this somewhere.

Apparently it originally had a full M950 groupset (about right for ‘97 I guess) so that could be a build idea and explains the V-only frame.

I do have a few M950/2 parts I stashed for this, if a buyer were interested.

That is retro-dedication, but there is a solution possible using a cable hanger fitted to the seat clamp bolt , as seen on some mid 90s FAT Chances etc.

If a paint job was ever perfect for purple ano parts this a good one
