1996 Klein Pulse II

Having bought this in a bit a moment of madness..( a sort of stopgap ) whilst awiating my Fervor to finally get i from the States...it was TBH a little bit of a disappointment.

Obviously the seller had thrown it together from bits and pieces ( many knackered ) from his shed.

The Cranks were completely f**ked, the finishing kit ranged from Altus to XTR....and the frame has a dent in the top tube..caused I suspect by the brtake lever...nothing major..but I asked lots of questions..and these issues were not mentioned.... :evil: Nor does he seem keen to respoind to my PM's...

Anyhoo....I've taken everything off...and replaced with bits and bobs from my shed, plus some kit I recently traded.

Not quite period...but am struggling to get all the appropriate XT kit.

Its come out pretty well....IMO..though frame is a little scratched up in places ( and is impossible to polish them out... )

Frame is stamped 95...and these were only available in the 96 catalogue...colours are understated, and the welds are almost perfectly smooth...

Gradient tubing that comes in lighter than the Attitude...A true Klein....the last real pre-Trek model perhaps.

Shes pretty svelte, but I suspect I can shave off another pound or two without too much expense...

Its a shame you arnt that happy with it ? did you buy it on here oe ebay ?
It looks really nice in black with the silver bits
If it was mine id change the forks for something else ? not sure what but i allways say rc30s when im not sure... and also change the bars to something silver... nice bike though

Like the black frame. Looks class. like red forks with it to. polished parts goes well. i'd have a sliver stem.

Agreed...got one coming....got a silver Bonty finishing kit from a later Pulse Race off the bay.

Fervor, left the LA on the 10th of May...and reached Blighty on the 23rd...priority mail my arse !!!

Anyhow..should be here soon, so I'll be in touch regarding the stem...

Hope it rides different to the Pulse..must say first impression weren;t great...not like my M2.

Perhaps a bit of tweaking will help. I

How does the Pulse ride. I am considering getting a Pulse as my next project. I came close to getting one in 1997 but ended up buying a Specilaized instead. Is the ride as harsh as I think it would be?

Personally I like the look of your Klein, a few highlights (such as the silver stem mentioned elsewhere) would liven it up a bit. I think white forks (SIDs?) would look great too.
