1996? Cannondale M1000

hi all
picked this interesting bike up a couple weeks ago. from checking serial number on vintage cannondale site it appears to be of 1996 vintage. i have since looked thru all the cannondale brochures i can find online with no luck finding this particular model M1000 with this frame configuration. sort or a killer/delta V. in and around the mid 90's cannondale had 24" wheel models in this styling but this one is a 26" wheel. :?
can any of the cannondale experts out there help nail down details on this bike. regardless i like it.

thanks for the info. even though the serial number identifies it as a 1996 the M1000 wasn't available in 1996. shows up in 1997 catalogue. but doesn't list blue as one of the colour choices. anyone else have one with similar frame? would like to see it.

Hi there,
I have, or more correctly my wife has, a similar M2000.
The Serial is 5141092nnnn - so Size14 and made in Oct92.

It came with pretty low end kit on it - Altus etc. Wheels are Wolber AT400 with Specialized Cannibal 1.8" tyres


Daft thing is, as a 14" frame - it'll be for a small person. Cranks are 175mm - bars/grips.brakelevers were massive

the serial number identifies it as a 1996 the M1000 wasn't available in 1996. shows up in 1997 catalogue.

The serial number tells you the build date. Many bikes for the 1997 model year would have been built (and indeed sold) in 1996.

Paintjob on mine is very much the '93 M2000 colourscheme.
Which is spot on - built Oct92 for 1993 sale.

I dont think 1996 models had main logos with those black shadows.
A few months back a bought 1996 model in yellow for my mom. Its beautifull. sorry for bad pics
