that cable stop looks like it's been done to run a straight through full length cable outer to a v-brake

It looks like it. Whoever did it hasn't drilled through it though, and left the little 'step' inside, so i hope i can ease it back into shape.... :facepalm:

Been toying with making this a drop bar, singlespeed, V braked monster cross commuter.... reckon i have a few niches covered there..
