1994 SWorks bike for sale, complete bike, 19inch frame, 21 speed
Specialized Direct Drive Tange Prestige Double Butted Frame and fork - Handmade in Japan (fork is 1inch ahead)
Shorter, higher rise, stem currently fitted but I have the original Ti stem.
Bontrager/Titec 190g handlebars.
Primax Ahead headset.
LX rear Mech.
LX canti brakes.
LX Rapidfire combi brake levers and shifters -
(the righthand shifter is an 8 speed but the rear mech is set up so you can't go into the 8th click, 7 and 8 speed cassettes have the same spacing so works fine, you could put an 8speed freewheel on but you'd have to respace the axle and re-dish the rear wheel?).
Exage chainset, very similar to the original LX.
LX hubs with the original Z21 rims.
Original seatpost (not sure about saddle but it is a Specialized saddle)
Specialized Crossroad II tyres from 1993/4 and still in amazing condition.
All works and runs fine, and in overall great condition, a few chips and rubs here and there, and a bit of chainsuck which can be seen in one of the photos. It's a fast bike, used to use it to commute and it flys, all chainrings and cassette are very good with minimal wear, wheels run true and loads of life left in the rims.
I've not cleaned this, just taken photos as is, so has a bit of dust and cobwebs on it but I'm sure it would clean and polish up nicely.
Here's some photos. If you want any more photos or details please get in touch?
I had this up on the 'how much is my xyz worth' thread as I wasn't sure of it's value, I've been advised £200 - £400, and I was also advised not to sell for less than £400, so I'm going to say ...
£350
Obviously I'm open to offers, thought I'd start at the high price but I'm not expecting that, make me an offer?
Happy for collection from Sussex, happy to post at extra cost, can meet within reasonable distance.
