Seems like there is a few around at the min, quite tempted could any one tell me more about the frame material (Race lite) frame weight, and also the correct spec for a bike of this year..
Send me you email and I will send you the specs from the catalogue. As a start, it's Kona Light chro-mo and prbably weighs in at around 1.8-2 kg depending on size. The component group consisted mainly of Suntour XC LTD.
With all due respect to Paul (which is much), I very much doubt whether a 92 Cinder Cone gets near to 2kg. Kona themselves claimed 4-12 = 2.15 for the 93 frame, which I would guess was lighter than the 1992. I had a 92 Cinder Cone once, and admitedly it was a 20, but it was no lightweight.
The specs are below, but I wonder whether you might be better off with this frame selling this evening on eBay - the 92 Explosif probably does weigh 2kg, or even a fraction less. My 94 Kilauea is made of the same tubeset, Tange Prestige Concept, ovalised and tapered for strength, and it weighs 2.06 for a size 19.

I was only guessing based on the weight of my 18" ´92 Explosif, which weighs 1.9 kg(?). Figured the CC would be a bit heavier, but wasn't sure by how much. The ´90 CC frame I had was a pig and weighed over 2kg for sure. And in my early Sunday morning groggy state, I forgot to check which tubing was used on the CC
