If only it was the orange color.:)

something tells me the BIN would've been clicked a few times over if it was the white/orange :)

?Even at $1200?
I didn't realize they were such a cult item.

Yes, mostly due to the condition (minty) and original parts. I've seen the orange and white ones really get up there in a straight auction.

He is basically starting his auction at the highest price that the more desirable color scheme has garnered (albeit in not as minty condition).

I bet there is a little shuffle in the final minutes this time, but it is still more than I'd pay for one. Cool bike though, and a good deal cooler than what $1200 would get you in a modern bike (perhaps a debatable statement!).

I missed out on an Orange one localy last year. My size and only $350us.
They are cool but way overpriced IMHO.
Much rather have a Fat, Klein, Kona Ti for that much money.

Not too debatable:

Try getting something from Grant Petersen's company today for less than $2000. The Petersen Bridgestones (zip and xo being best) were great bikes, and are well worth their price. Grant it, I'd like to pay as little as possible

 I really need to spend some quality time out your way. You always find great bikes at great prices.

I agree with the Fat, not sure about the Kona Ti or Klein though. Kleins are a bit overpriced, at least on ebay. (There's a nice Kona Ti for sale in the US sales thread)
