Thanks! Cheers for all of the other comments as well folks 8)

Turned out the thumbies needed a little more tightening up on the internal splines. I was being a little cautious with not damaging them (over tightening the locking nut) when rebuilding and they were slipping when setting up the cabling. All is good now though.

Did a bit more fumbling about last night with autosol and some choice parts acquired/found, just have the brakes to fit now...

Re:

Brakes are now on :)

Finally folded and bought a bit of NOS in the form of some Diacompe 985's. They were surprisingly a bit of a faff to set up on then front mainly, not helped by a slightly bent brake post that I had to tap very gently back in place.

The bike is now pretty much done and ready for the all important shake down ride...

Re:

Definitely finished now! Already been on a couple of rides, and what a bike it has turned out to be!

As I said, I've never owned a Klein but I get them now, the ride is not too dissimilar to the early Bontrager I had - low, long and agile. It climbs surprisingly well also.. Hopefully the frame will hold up for a bit longer.

Managed to escape work in the daylight and it was a particularly beautiful afternoon here in the Smoke, so here's some shots taken on the way home :D

Re: 1991 Klein Pinnacle - AKA the Partsbin Pinnacle now Done!

Love Klein. Like the black fork too

Re:

Fast forward a year and a half (complete with a new daughter in tow) and the Pinnacle still hasn't broken yet - result! It's since been dressed up with 987 brakes, some Cooks I had stashed away and a pair of Bullseye wheels, which ultimately cost me nothing :D

It's still a great little thing to cruise about on...
