Beautiful work of art, but I hope it gets ridden as well!

Did Bill Grove form that top/down tube by manipulating a round cromoly tube in his own workshop? I guess he must have, as you surely couldn't buy it like that? Seems like some mighty combination of vision, skill and determination must have been needed there.

Got to hand it to Rody as well, staying faithfull to that Hothead design all these years later - just a pity you don't need a built-in canti hanger nowadays, cos that's quite a neat solution!

Tell you what: I just ordered a combo from Rody with cable hanger. Of course you do not need it for a modern ride, but I have Rody made a combo for my classic rider :D

Anthony, the boom tube is a 2.0" x .035 round tube that is swaged bi-axely to accomplish the shaping. Check out the Luv bar fabrication thread on my blog to see how it is accomplished.

And, just to set the record straight... the Trimble is actually a glass X frame. Bill originally built the X without the chainstays, much like Trimble went on to do, but found that while very compliant, the tire would rub the stays on climbs and hard efforts, so in they went.

cheers,

rody
