A long time ago, someone showed this bike on the ebay auction.
Difficult for me to resist. So, I contacted Brian my US friend of Vintage Cannondale for shipping it to me.
And a month later, the bike was at home.
But a lot of work on it : finding some items like the cannondale stem, repairing some little scuffs on the painting, building beautifull wheels in the spirit of this bike…

The omega was a numeroted limited series of the SM series of Cannondale. Only 200 bikes. Cannondale has sold this bike during the summer of 1990 with very beautifull parts, like the cook bros crank, grafton brakes, shimano XT groupo (XTR didn't exist in 1990)
So, a little listing :
frame : cannondale 3.0 level mountain 16"
fork : pepperoni
headset : mavic
stem : cannondale 285 (welded by Nitto)
handlebar : profile carbone (syntace carbon on mine)
brake levers and shifters : shimano XT STI (thumbies on mine)
crank : cook bros (ti action chainrings on mine)
derailleurs : shimano XT
brakes : grafton
wheels : ritchey rims with shimano XT hubs (ringle on mine)
tires : gary fisher Fattrax (specialized GC on mine)
seatpost : nitto (ritchey on mine)
seat : turbo (cannondale on mine)

wow!

is that a Mavic BB?

yeah it is indeed, I got one on my dale, not sure why you would use it as my threads look good and the BB has had to be tapered to make it fit nice and snug.

Yes, it's a mavic BB : I don't really know if it's original or an upgrade. These BB was used whenn the thread was out of use but you needed to chamfer the frame first. On a magazine, I read that it was a cook bros racing BB, but perhaps, it was a mistake. The headset is Mavic. So , why not for the BB.
;)
