1990? Alpinestars Cromega DX pre e-stay?

I'm new here - thought you'd all appreciate my commuter:

Was given to me - 21" frame, all original DX components except wheels, seat and bars. Pre-low pro DX cantis to catch your heels on, push push rapidfires and 21 gears.

Currently wearing slicks and mud guards. I remember the tests for these running in MBUK so couldn't refuse the offer of the bike for free!

Can anyone shed light on the model year of this? I guessed at 1990?

I have seen your bike before on MTBR. Nice example!

It could very well be 1990 considering the specs, the fact that my ECS is '91 etc.
