I'm totally new to this forum and also to retro MTB issues. I raced a Diamond Back Axis Pro back in the 1990's and its the only bike I still have after a long and very average competitive cycling history. My question is over its year, I cant remember when my folks bought it for me. It was black (now purple, sorry you purists) and came with Tange struts forks. It was full XTR, Mavic 231's, zoom stem/ bars etc. No amount of googling shows this edition. It was bought in Gloucester from Dave Smith cycles in Barton Street. I have returned to riding on it and I have to say its better to ride than my 2008 Giant.
So I am considering a rebuild back to its former glory and ultimately race it here in New Zealand where I now live.
I will post a pic sometime.........anyone remember these?
