1989 Scott Windriver

First of all thanks again to MR OX for spotting this one and posting it on the forum. 1989 was when I got my first half decent bike, a Bear Valley, so it's fair to say I have a soft spot for anything 89.

I've given it a quick clean this evening to see what we've got and it looks pretty original. I also ditched the rack which did nothing for the appearance. The only changes appear to be the tyres, but they are Ground Control 2's so I'm not going to complain, rear brake blocks and the adjustable bottom bracket cup. If I'm being really critical also a couple of outer cables have been changed for black. Next up is to strip it down and clean and service it properly. The spokes look like they may be a bit too far gone, the joys of buying a bike from down the seaside, so it may just be better to replace them with new and give the hubs a good polish at the same time. This is either going to be really quick resto or a slow burner as I have something a bit more special from 1989 hopefully arriving this week.

Now a question for you all. I've always called these a 'Wind River' but I suppose it could equally be 'Win Driver'. Anyone know ?

That's a nice find, looks in good condition too.
I've always called them "Wind River", no idea if that's the correct way to say it though!
