Ok so I bought this as a whole bike on a huge gamble and it didn't quite pay off. I have stripped it and thrown away all the crap that was on it that didn't work and I'm left with a nice frame and forks which are waaaaay too big for me. :-(

1989/90 (not sure which) Alpinestars Alpine LX MTN Cross frame, lovely delicate forks and Astars stem and bars.

The frame is in good condition. No dents or big scrapes. The paint on the front end is pretty good and so are most of the decals. The white back end is a bit scabby with rust. If it was mine I'd sand those bits back and blow over with some pearl white to make it fresh again, but you could leave it as is.
It has horizontal rear dropouts so maybe single speed is an option. Full rack/guard mounts so more options there.

It says 4130 cro-mo main tubes on the seat tube label but then the decals also say cro-mo stays so I guess it's all cro-mo!! Ok it's not a featherlight but it's ok, the forks are quite light I reckon but I haven't weighed them.

Sale will include the Astars stem and bars which could do with a respray - you might get away with touching up the rather nice stem but the bars are not great.

1" threaded headset
22.5" toptube
20" seat tube centre to top, 18.5" centre to centre
All threads are fine - everything was removed from the bike with not much effort.

The wheels pictured are shimano cassette hubs with a 7sp cassette and Araya rims, but rustless spokes which need a clean up. They are straight and round but the hubs need some grease but they aren't gritty. I will include them for £5 extra to cover the extra post if you want them.

I'll also include a 300mm Kalloy seatpin to fit the frame FOC. It needs a polish but it saves you buying one.

£50 posted for the above or £55 if you want the wheels too.

Anyway here are the pics:

Are they 700c wheels? Also interested if these guys drop out. :)

No, 26". Same frame I think as the Alpine cross which had the 700c wheels but this is for MTB wheels. I love this frame but it's MASSIVE for me!!
