The Mombat site has what is stated to be an '89 which is serial number 371 and this chap reckons his
I could be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that in '89 you could have either U stay or canti mounts. Any experts out there....

I too need a Merlin in my life, so I asked the seller for more measurements and here's what he had to say:

The frame center to top is 48cm, and the the top tube is 55cm. c-c.

Too small...
