hi i dont have the funds to see this project through so its going to have to go. this dear retrobikers is schwinn's attempt at an early mountain bike. it is fairly basic but it marks one of the very first production mountain bikes aimed at the lower end of the market. i fnd it quite ironic that 10 years earlier our founding fathers were throwing themselves down mountains on modified pre war schwinns, and this was the best they could build themselves!

joking aside the frame does actually look really nice. i really wanted to build this and just have it as a cruiser, a bit of a nod to the past as to how things could have been.

sadly the fork is missing, apparently stolen but it should have a bmx type chrome fork in there. the front wheel went the same way as the fork.

i do have a set of beartrap style pedals, supposedly the originals but i dont have the original saddle

here's a link to an earlier bike owned by firstflight clicky

and heres mine...

according to the guy i bought it off he bought it in the states when he was out there working for levis and this exact bike was used in their catalogue.

this owes me £65 and ideally i would like that back. postage will be £10 but i am open to offers, so go on, hit me

sale didnt happen in the end so i still have this poece of early mtb history, minus the rear tyre though. £55 posted
