1978 Raleigh SBDU Time Trial Special

A Raleigh Time Trial Special Reynolds 753 frameset dating from 1978 purchased on eBay (USA) for all of $199 (I was the only bidder!) and outfitted with period correct "weight weenie" components including a wonderfully Alf Engers-esqe drilled out Weinmann 500 brakeset... total built-up weight... 16.6 lbs!

That is wonderful takes me right back to my youth Love the massive TA ring and the drilled out brakes as if Weinmann 500's weren't light enough

Use it, you bet... this thing FLIES. 180 cranks, 56 ring, 13-19 freewheel... and yes holes notwithstanding the Weinmann 500s can bring her to a grinding halt if one is so inclined.

Fine bike No fan of the Weinmanns, but with this treatment they look trick.
