18" Zaskar LE (never used) SOLD

I'm selling my 18" Zaskar LE because I have to many bikes and only two legs to ride them. I think it is a 1996 or 1997 model. I have purchased this frame a year ago from a collector in Germany.
This frame has never been used. It has only been build up twice, once by me an the first time for the Koln or Friedrichshafen bikeshow in 1996. Don't know exactly what year it was, could also be 1997. The frame has been painted flat black te see if there was any interest in a GT in this particulary colour. After that GT came with their GT and LTS bikes in black ano.
The "GT" and "Zaskar LE" logo are sprayed into the paint. The other logo's are stickers.
Because this frame has never been used it is in almost new condition. The storage has left one very small chip just above the left drop out (see picture). Also on the headtube there is a very small chip near the top of the tube where the headset is pressed in.
Actually, I don't really know what to ask for the frame so I thought a price of 190 GBP should be ok. I gather you all know the specs of the frame, if not, just ask.
Here are the pics:
PS don't mind the dust on the frame

Nice frame, unusual colour. i know it's hard to decide on a value, but the rules on here are that you must put a price on it otherwise the post will be locked or removed.

Good luck with the sale.

Black ano was a color that GT in fact did offer in there Tech Shop program and it was pictured in their catalog. I love great stories. How could it have been built up for a bike show in 1996 when it wasn't even built until 1997 (the first four digits of the serial number are the month and year the frame was produced), I'd say that was long after 1996. It would be easy to clean up a any Zaskar frame and put a fresh coat of flat black paint on it and call it new.
I smell a scam on this frame. Why are the dropouts missing all the paint? Did anyone else note the crimping indentation in the seat tube below the seat clamp.

Explain the Black ano frame in the 1993 GT catalog at this link pictured on page 13:

GT in fact did do black Zaskars long before the poster indicated. Years in fact.

I do not smell a scam. I know the seller pretty well and bought a lot of him over the years. He always proofed to be very detailled and honest on what was selling. Stuff I got was always as mint as mint can be. I always got sympathic quotes as well.

You wonder how it can be that a '97 frame can be built for a '96 show. In his 1st post Peperbek said this too:

''Don't know exactly what year it was, could also be 1997.''

The non painted dropouts I consider a nice touch. If they'd painted them too, paint would have chipped from it the 1st time you installed a wheel ...and probably not in the even cuved line there is now.

The what you think crimping indentation could also be something with light, dust icw finger print ...etc. I don't know.

The black Zaskar in the catalogue is gloss black anodized.

Seems the frame is sold already. Imo the buyer can be completely confident that he gets a nice piece at a great price.

Hmmm :? The missing paint, looks like it was painted with a QR in :? The GT frame stop badge also looks rough? Maybe we're being too suspicious, maybe not????
