18" Full bike £ to £400

Looking for a bike for my big brother. Theres a budget of 3 to 400, looking for front suspension and discs, has to be in good mechanical condition with no shitty surprises. Don't care in the slightest about scratches and chips etc. Something in steel with a set of marzocchis up front would be nice or maybe a treklein attitude or similar.
Anything out there?

tried gumtree etc? lots of bargains there...
