Anyone else bothered about the goverment spending tens of Billions of pounds on replacing Trident nuclear weapons, against international law? Anyone else think the cash could be better spent?
There is a year-long protest under way, centered around Faslane where our nuclear weapons are based. All kinds of people have organised themselves into groups and gone up to protest, peacefully and not so peacefully. (eg medics, academics, jugglers, MPs etc). Read their accounts at faslane365.org
There will be cyclists gathering from throughout the UK to protest at Faslane in the first week of september. I'm looking for cyclists to join me riding c.150 miles from Kielder village on the scottish border to Faslane in a single day (or longer?) to try and get a bit more press coverage for the cause and demonstrate what 'will power' can achieve - something politicians will need to build a future without the risk of 'mutually assured distruction'.
Anyone interested?
