I dont smoke da reefer but a pic will appear. Rear is 126mm with 130mm modern wheels.

Used to use fag paper to get a datum on the milling machine. Wind the tool on until it removes the wet fag paper and then zero.
I’m off to have a last ride on Gertrude before summer ends..........

So have you stretched the rear slightly to 130mm or kept it at 126mm? By my calculations I can get 9 gears off a 10-speed cassette onto a 7-speed freehub and maintain the 126mm rear spacing. My frame is alloy with cast dropouts, however, so stretching is out of the question.

Its a steel frame so more forgiving than people often take them for. Most people dont realize that they twang the frame around by quite a few mm when simply removing a wheel. I wouldnt even worry about frames like Alans or Vitus, have successfully run 130mm wheels in these frames over the years.
10spd freehub sized bodies have been around since Ultegra/ 600 8spd days so theres nearly 30 years of suitable frames and wheels sloshing around out there.
