no, they won't fit. 1 1/8" ahead steerer is 28.6mm diameter. as pete wrote, with the shim they will fit on the quill of an 1" quill stem (diameter of the quill is 22.2mm), nothing else. without the shim they will fit on the steerer tube of a 1" fork and on the quill of a 1 1/8" quill stem. the steerer tube of a 1" fork and the quill of a 1 1/8" fork has 1" or 25.4mm diameter.

Plus all i know is that i use them on 1'' A-head with out the little shim. Always wondered what that was for :shock:
