I have the opportunity to pick up a Marin. It says Eldridge on the frame but I can’t find one this colour. Google lens says it’s a Pine Mountain.

I’m trying to fit a 42 tooth cassette onto my bike with a Shimano Deore DX derailer. Is there a way of extending the hanger or do I just need a new derailer?

Has anyone seen this before, I’m just stripping a wheel to service it and the bearings are different sizes?

This bike isn’t even mine! It’s my friends, he hasn’t ridden it for about 15 years. He just had it it laying around in the garage.

The suspension forks are the ones I have removed as they are shot, the black Kona forks are the ones I want to fit, so it’s possible to swap the races? I can’t even see a gap between them and the fork! I really need glasses!

Once again I’m out of my depth and needing help! My friend has asked me to change his forks from his Orange P7 to some Kona Project 2. The fork just had a nylon washer between it and the bottom cup, these seem to have a race built in? Any help will be massively appreciated.

I should have been clearer. What I’m looking for is so hard to find! I’ve seen some on Aliexpress for £35 but don’t really want to go down that route. I guess I could convert the front to disc but then that’s a whole load of money. Or just run back brake 😏

My mate has an Orange P7 and he wants help to get it back up and running, the sus forks are totally shot. I’ve found some cheap rigids that have a 390mm a2c the ones I’ve removed are 450mm. Will this be too much of a difference? I’ve never done this before so am worried it’ll look a bit “nose down”

Not yet, this one was covered by scabby paint. I took a brake from fighting with the seat post and started sanding, then I saw it.

I’ve got and old stump jumper frame and I’ve discovered a small 2mm hole in a chain stay, I’ve never seen this before. But to be fair I’ve never tried to rescue a bike this old before. Obviously this isn’t a good sign, but how bad is it? I’m not in love with this frame but equally I’d rather not...

So after snapping my breaker bar and killing my biggest ratchet, I employed the big guns. Hot air gun, set of stilsons and a car jack handle for leverage. Job done!

Just an update, after soaking in penetration oil over night, I managed to snap the 1/2 drive off my breaker bar. Which probably says more about the quality of the bar than my strength! So I’m carrying on with the soaking. Next attempt will be a big ratchet with a length of Scaff tube over the...
