Hi I've notice my top headset bearing is missing the dust seal. Headset is 1" Deore XT M735. I've had a look online and can't seem to find the correct seal, does anyone know where I could get one from or even make something up? Thanks.

Re: Thanks for the replies. All the pivots seem to be free and have spring tension, I'm running a 12/28 cassette and took the entire drivetrain off another bike which seemed to be ok, the only thing I've done is add a new chain. I wouldn't run small/small or big/big but something isn't right...

Hi I am building up my bike and have installed a new chain. I have measured it as using the info from Park Tools, big ring to big sprocket and add 2 links. As you can see from the pictures when the chain is on small and small it is very loose but on big and big there wouldn't really be any...

Hi I am after a link wire for my front XT M730 cantilever brakes. I have one for the rear which is stamped F on the cable, is this the size I require for the front and does anyone know where I could get one please. Also could I use a shorter cable, I see plenty of these available on Ebay. Thanks

Re: New project 1993 Clockwork Build so far. Had the bike powder coated and took a chance with the grey, seems to have come out ok. Just need to get a chain, cables and handlebar to get the bike going. Decals to be ordered too.

Hi I'm building a 1993 Orange Clockwork which came with a set of forks, I had a Shimano XT headset which I have fitted although this was not from the Orange. What would be the done thing to do here, there's about 25mm of thread showing, would I add 10mm of spacers and cut off the rest or not...
