    For Sale Kona Kapu Frameset

Curious as to why you say the Kona 52cm is essentially a 54cm. Is it just because of the top tube length or is there something else about the geometry that makes it effectively larger?

    1995 Kona Kapu

Yes, I believe you're right about this. I'm really in my head about riding a 54 at 5' 10", but it feels pretty good with the seat set back a fair amount. I'm also just feeling lucky to have one of these and experience it for a while, chalking it up to weird Kona geometry, and getting that...

    1995 Kona Kapu

Curious, when I measure from center of BB to top of seat tube, I get 57cm. Center to center of the top tube adjusted length (as per chart) is 55cm, which would read as the 54cm size. 🙃

    1995 Kona Kapu

When I measure mine based on the '95 catalog geometry, I'm getting closest to 54cm numbers. Not to say I deny your measurements, that's just what I'm finding. I agree my frame is smaller, I noticed the pump nub location as well. I think I've exhausted almost every early Kona Kapu link at this...

Kona kapu 1995 almost like new

Hello! I just got one of these in what looks like the same size as yours. I know I’m a few years out of the loop, but do you have any idea what size that frame is?

    1995 Kona Kapu

Here’s the one I just picked up. Also has the 5I stamped in the bottom. Cranks are 170. It was listed as a 56cm, but I don’t think that’s right. Any guesses as to size would be appreciated, and thanks for your response!

Hey, I just got one of these and am trying to figure out what size it actually is. It looks very similar to yours. Do you know if there is anything stamped on the frame that would indicate the size or have any measuring tricks? Kona's catalog geometry seems a bit tricky to me. Also, just curious...

    Early Vitus 979

Yep, I've seen that blog. I saw that the grub screw was introduced in 1985. I guess "early" wasn't the best word to put in the title, considering '85 was the 6th year they were being made. I also watched a video on youtube all about Vitus, where they explain that seat post clamp failure. And...

    Early Vitus 979

And in case you're wondering, I loosened the stem bolt to check it. It was a little tight, but I was able to wiggle it loose. And I assume the "52" is the seat post measurement, correct?

    Early Vitus 979

Hello all, I recently acquired this ride. Seems pretty original; saddle, stem, brake levers, and pedals being some main replacements. Nice Shimano 600 parts, yada yada yada. I'll post some pics for you to evaluate, but what I'm curious about is the decals and/or lack thereof. The only decals are...

    ‘92 Schwinn Paramount Series 90

Almost forgot to mention; I noticed yours has a Schwinn decal on the fork and down tube, and mine has Paramount. Is that a region thing? As far as I know this colorway was only done in 1992.

    ‘92 Schwinn Paramount Series 90

I have the same bike, almost original, mine has the Campy Atek rims. So light and nice to ride. Got it on Craigslist in Florida last year. The bottom pull derailleur had been replaced with junk and the pulley wheel removed, but I found a top pull xc pro FD for $16 shipped on eBay. The existing...
