I'm after a raleigh MTB, lugged steel with horizontal dropouts. frame and forks or complete bike, 23" seat-tube. anyone want to help make my raleigh collection complete?? please - price, location, photo's and postal costs. Ta.

for 26x2.00 tyres, if they have NOT got canti studs, all the better. but i can soon sweat or grind them off. the original forks have a 7.25" steerer, but if it's longer i can work with it someone must have an old scrappy ATB rusting away?

i'd hold off replacing the forks until you've ridden it. as for brazing on cantis, it's what got done to mine by a friend that i got it off...and with BMX20" (406mm) your tyre choice is vastly improved. 50mm big apples says no need for suspension. can't advise at all on the peculiar gear set up...

how do they compare to modern BMXs. i have very, very fond memories of mine, but i'm 41 and 6'2" so it's not for me, but for my boy. he may like the look of them, and even the idea of having an old bike, but are they actually any good? what age are they suitable for. i was 13 or 14 when i got...

an SA AW 3 speed would look clean and give you gears. it's also be eminently suitable for that age and style of frame, as well as for riding around london on if you gear it so you've got close as poss to 46/62/82"
