    GT Roadbike identification

I hope there are some GT experts here and that this is the right sub-forum. I'm tryint to find out what frame this is. My first guess is a Edge around 1997-1998 but according to catalogs they weren't made with 7000 aluminium. Groupset is full Shimano 105. Maybe a Strike oder Rage? Thanks.

Purchased a GT Force 1994, need help deciding what to do next

"Unfortunately", I'm having a lot of joy riding it at the moment. Recently took it for a cozy 133km spin around some medieval landscape here. I can't believe that a bike can have so much character. I distanced myself from the "commuter 1x option" and went with a universal 50/34 and 11-28.

De Rosa Merak, what year and geometry?

my wife recently bought me a De Rosa Merak frame for (in my humble opinion) a good price on the 2nd hand market. I think it was roughly EUR 280. I've build it up with some spare parts, tuned it so the fitting is as close to my reference (Trek Domane ALR 5 2018, size 5:cool: as possible and took...

Bought this a couple of days before my birthday and was hoping it would fit me frame size wise. 20" Karakoram 1994. I'm 184cm tall with 89cm inseam so sticking to cool looking low stem and bars is impossible. I left the aftermarket stem on and tried out a riser, much better though the whole...

Purchased a GT Force 1994, need help deciding what to do next

I totally forgot about this thread...and the might thanks to the road conditions in winter (salt and pepples). But until winter it was my favourite commuter. This is how it looks like now although the purple screws and 1x are temporary. My only complaint is that the geometry it too athletic for...

Need help on deciding which used wheel set

Since I'm absolutely inexperienced when it comes to (older) wheels, I'm having difficulty on deciding which wheel are, price/performance wise, the better option for my GT Force 1994. Which one would you guys take...

Purchased a GT Force 1994, need help deciding what to do next

Wow, that is absolutely breath-taking. Haven't thought about the "neo-retro" option. I'll see what the prices are on the second hand market and, if reasonable, will go down this rabbit hole. The things which I'd love to change are: Comfort aka "as soon as possible" - Shifters - Handlebar and...

Purchased a GT Force 1994, need help deciding what to do next

Thank you all for the great advice. It seems that I'll take option number two then. I ride SPD every day to work and love it. It's second nature to put twist and put the foot out to the side. With the clip pedals it's not a "movement" sind you have to pull the foot back first instead to the...

    Marin sausalito 1993

I know its been a while but since I'm in the process of purchasing a Marin Redwood with the intention of converting it to a "gravel bike": Is the Sausalito have a similar frame to a Redwood? How much tire clearance did yours have?

Long time reader, first time poster. First of all, I want to thank you all and the forum for the great information. It really helped me a lot to understand the material and mindset behind this wonderful hobby. Also, please excuse my mediocre English since it's not my native language. I still...
