What's this thing called (fork part)?

Yup. Looks like the same one on my Psylo. I just call it a lock out knob and the other side has the u turn knob. I wonder if someone could 3-D print new ones?

Not sure what you're doing but can't you just mount the V brakes and use the cable noodle? Fisher CR 7 originally equipped with canti's Now running XTR V Barkes.

Which bike helmet do you have for retro riding?

Nothing retro about my helmet. For my riding I use a Exclusky helmet off of Amazon. Fits me good, good venting, stays put, and lightweight...

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Got around to adding shifters and stringing brake/shifter cables. Added grips and brake lever covers. Need a new shock bolt. Original threads are stripped on mounting bolt. I had one but it was just a hair too short.

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Still waiting on shifters so not much to do. I added a couple of V brake boss plugs to fill those empty holes. Too bad the ones on the RS Psylo are smaller (M8?). Got the top cap installed too.

images of disassembled suspension forks Rock Shox, Manitou, Marzocchi, Paioli, Sunn, Scott, Tange, RST...

I'll add my Answer Manitou 4 pics. This project is still sitting on the back burner for now. The lower 2 elastomers were mush and the uppers were very sticky. Seems the uppers were not originals? Mine had 3 larger elastomers instead of 5 smaller ones. Seals fell apart also.

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Got around to getting the front and rear derailleur cables reconnected and found there must be rust inside the cable housings. The cables bind up . This bike must have sat for years. The shifters started acting up again and the cables need replacing so I ordered a set of EF51 shifters. This...

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Since I got these shifters working. Long shot here. Looking for a bottom cover for my shifter, Shimano SL-MC38. It looks like the STX RC shifter might have the same bottom cover also. Located in NV USA

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Tonight I decided to flush out the shifters before placing an order for a new pair. Suprisingly they started working after only a coulple of flushes with WD-40. I suppose I can run the F/D shifter without a bottom cover with no issues besides aesthetics? Just have to hook up front and rear...

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Not going to be messing with the shifters. I could probably spend the time, and a bunch ot cleaner, to maybe get them working again but the time/effort vs cost of new just isn't worth my time. Still trying to decide on what shifters I want to use. I do know I don't want a shifter/brake lever...

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

So I started working on it last night. First thing I found was the rear freehub was just spinning. I spent about 30 minutes flushing with WD-40 and applying heat with a hair drier and I got it freed up and working again. Will reinstall axle and grease bearings tonite. I have new grips ordered. I...

    New Project-2004 Giant DS2 Warp

Picked up at a local Goodwill online aution for $16.00 USD. 2004(?) Giant DS 2 Warp 20.5" frame size is why I bid on it. I was wanting a new project and this looks like a easy, cheap one. New grips, remove the stem extender, and change stem to start. The pedals look like they fold (?). I will...

    Workshop/Workspace... Show us yours!

I have to back a car out to work. Summertime heat here in the desert will drive me to work inside the house. Has retro content, mess, clutter and disorganisation
