Wanted Early 90s GT Timberline or similar

Nostalgically thinking about my first proper mountain bike which was a 1994 GT Timberline in the hydro blue (marble effect) paint scheme. Thinking of doing a resto mod (bmx stem, riser bars, tan walls, you’ve all seen plenty of them) so looking for a cheap base to start from. Timberline or...

Withdrawn Kona Project 2 fork, 1 1/8 threadless, 26inch rim brake

Might do. I stuck a set on my OnOne 456 but it isn’t suspension corrected so it has thrown the geometry out for a frame that is designed for up to 6inch fork. 21.5 steerer tube and 37cm axle to crown. It is a disc brake fork with IS mount and quick release drop outs.

Sold 1960s Carlton built Sun Snipe Prestige

I don’t know the weight I’m afraid. It’s a 1960s frame made from steel, so won’t be super light compared to modern bikes.

Hi, thought I had replied to this, sorry. It is still available. The frame size is (approx) 54cm seat tube (centre to top) by 56cm top tube (centre to centre).

Sold 1960s Carlton built Sun Snipe Prestige

Time to make room in the stable so selling my Sun Snipe Prestige. This was a barn find which I completely stripped and restored, although I decided to keep the frame in its original condition with all the battle scars and to preserve the original beautiful decals and paint work. It’s had a good...

    Dent in top tube

Thanks Fettler. I left it in the end. I’m sure it would have been structurally fine but didn’t want to pay full money for something that was damaged. He’s now advertising it for twice as much! On the look out here for a ‘92 Trek 950 now.

    Dent in top tube

Thanks all. Appreciate the advice. I do particularly like these lugged frames and the Big Fork. They’re asking £75. If I can get it cheap I might have a throw of the dice.

    Dent in top tube

Don’t think it’s had a head on smash. Judging from the damage on the brake cable in the same spot I’d say it’s fallen over or had something dropped on it.

    Dent in top tube

Hi, looking for a bit of advice. I’m looking at a 1992 Trek 950 Singletrack on fleabay. On close inspection of the photos there looks to be a small dent on the top of the top tube. Not much in the description from the seller and they don’t seem to want to answer questions. Should I steer...
