My wife says I have a problem!

My first guess was not knowing how to haggle, it was a garage sale after all!

My wife says I have a problem!

I have somewhere between 35-40 old vintage mountain bikes. Today went past a garage sale saw bikes and had to stop and check them out. Was a matching set of 1990 Mongoose Switchback bikes in almost perfect condition, what I think is 100% original! The seller wanted $50 for both bikes and I...

    1995 Marin Eldridge Grade question

Anyone have any literature in English for the specifications for this bike? Looks mostly original. Anyone have a stem cap for this bike, they are willing to sell/part with? I rarely see Marin vintage bikes in California even though they were birthed right here in Northern California...

86 or 87 Schwinn High Sierra?

If a bike is assembled in December, can I safely assume it is a early production for the following year?

86 or 87 Schwinn High Sierra?

Picked up this 198? Schwinn High Sierra. It has the black chrome finish, any cautionary tip on how to polish? Including head badge Pic number 3406 (340 day 86 year) and bottom bracket number GY626586. From what I can tell it is an 86 but the stem makes it look like an 87...any ideas or documents...

Help identify this Specialized 80's bike

Thanks, when I looked at the brochure I didn't see the option for the black/purple for any model but the Stumpjumper Comp, but because of the cable stop not being on the seat stay told me it was probably a lower model. Any thanks for identifying this bike! Cheers

Help identify this Specialized 80's bike

So the 1989 Stumpy (magenta/green) has the cable hanger off the seatpost binder. The 1989 Stumpjumper Comp has the more traditional bridge across the seat stays... Right color for Comp... Any help is appreciated.

Help identify this Specialized 80's bike

So a quick check, the Shimano date codes for the cranks is NC 1989... Appears it could be a Specialized Stumpjumper Comp but then it would be full XT not DX. Cable stop hanger off the seat post doesn't match anything?

Help identify this Specialized 80's bike

So I picked up this bike cheap this morning thinking it was a late 80's Specialized Rockhopper, possibly Hardrock or even Stumpjumper. Its a dark purple, has a couple of Specialized decals but no model name. The thing that is throwing me off is the cable stop attachment hanging off the seat...

1988 Muddy Fox Limited Edition questions

Thought I would explain the bar ends... They were put on the bike from day one. Can't remember the brand but they are the type that side into the handlebar end and expand with a alen bolt kinda like a quill stem. The plan is to remove them during the refresh/restore of the bike.

1988 Muddy Fox Limited Edition questions

The computer is a Timex period correct... The bar ends are only on the bike because I have not restored the bike yet and will be removing them eventually. I am wanting to know I can get the cam brakes working properly before pulling everything apart.
