    Orange Clockwork 10th anniversary 17"

SOLD £200 9 Aug 2013 I want to emulate the style of that great Kona Lavadome ad http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=266060 but I suspect will fail dismally as the sense of humour in that post was peerless instead can I interest any of you in this reluctant but necessary sale...

Re: 1994 Kona Lavadome, with original extras and love. best ad I've read for a long while and the thread is great too, so much better than the soulless ebay - great bike, good luck with the sale

    Orange Clockwork 1999

And I have to admit that this is probably one of those bikes I will regret letting go off.....

    Orange Clockwork 1999

I can understand this..... I've had the Clockwork for several years and enjoyed riding it even though it's probably too small for me. What I need now is a bike I can pootle about town on, take leisurely rides out to the near countryside plus have a child seat on it and the Lava Dome is a...

    Orange Clockwork 1999

So this has been in the cellar waiting to be stripped down so I can build my single speed lava dome. I can't justify having loads of bikes anymore now that I'm a father so I've stripped it down to the original parts and need some advice on best way to sell and what to expect in terms of value...

    Lava Dome parts

I picked up two Kona Lava Domes in recent weeks. One is just the right size, the other too big. I've broken up both bikes and selling parts to help fund a modern build for the frame that fits me. Photos for majority of parts are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/66888701@N08/ Happy to take...

    Kona Lava Dome x2 1991 and 1992

oh, single speed - now there's an idea..... ;0) do you use a tensioner or is it possible to get the chain the right tension without one? - I wouldn't want fixie, just single speed freewheel convertor. Right so looking forward to getting some time to tinker now....

    Kona Lava Dome x2 1991 and 1992

Thanks hamster, great reply. I like the P2 rigid forks, kind of nostalgic about the feel of riding those - takes me back to when I was 15. I guess I'll break the bikes up then and see what happens in the market place, but might have fun putting an as close to factory spec together and taking...

    Kona Lava Dome x2 1991 and 1992

I'd like some advice please! In the past couple of months I've picked up 2 unwanted Lava Domes from 1991 and 1992. The first is 18" purple, frame is a little bit rust/oil/grease stained and scratched but without any issues for riding, forks are P2 spinners with older P2 decals, but are pitted...

V-brake/cantilever pivot studs for Kona frame

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of these? I want to set up my Kona frame with V-brakes, but the brake bosses on the frame don't have pivot studs. I guess the frame was designed so that the studs were removable, but I don't have the studs. Can't find anything anywhere on the 'net...

    Cool Wall - Raleigh

I had a Super Burner and my cousin had a Super Tuff Burner with Skyway mags - both had a clear poly finish against chrome plated steel that made it look gold - splendid stuff. I sprayed it matt black - just sprayed it - didn't take any parts off or anything - just got a spray can and did the...

XT bits and pieces Was great finding messages in my inbox from Si. His history on here is frankly astonishing and checking out bikes that he has by trawling through the old posts was inspiring. Anyway - great trade and nice for me to think that my old parts will eventually grace a great...

Cool Wall - GT Bicycles - POLL FINISHED

I reckon just "OK" - there's a few cool models and plenty of uncool models - retro GTs are definitely better than the modern ones. The Avalanche used to be a half decent mid-range bike (with jackson pollock paint job remember) when it was made of steel. I'd say their BMXs are cooler than...

HELP! steel pedal thread stuck in aluminium crank

doh - this problem has addled my brain. I think I've been trying both directions. I will have to strip the pedal and use the paint stripping heat gun on the pedal spindle. :?

HELP! steel pedal thread stuck in aluminium crank

    8) yes I am - sadly.... if only it was that simple. The chain side is back to front so to loosen I am try to turn the pedal thread clockwise.

HELP! steel pedal thread stuck in aluminium crank

I've spent a couple of hours trying to get a pedal out of a 09 XT crank (chainside). Have left it in the workshop after liberally spraying GT85 around both ends of the threadhole. I'm going to try putting it in boiling water tomorrow and then giving it a bash, but I get the feeling this...

South & West Midlands Chat and rides

Checking in..... If you'll allow me to ride my Kula Primo with modern bits on it then I'm up for a hack with folks. Usual haunt is Forest of Dean, but would like to explore a little further afield. My 99 Orange Clockwork is patiently being worked on so the Kula's all I've got to ride at the...
