What hi fi system you got ?

Pretty sure I have a 1042 in My Linn Basik with Akito arm, I'm sure it was something my dad purchased new as an upgrade over the out of the box option that was offered at the shop which I researched as the best of the £ at the time. That is hooked up to a Pioneer A400 Amp Driving Monitor Audio...

What hi fi system you got ?

I have the AV-H500D in my office at home, hooked up to some Mordaunt Short MS10 speakers and a small Gale 8" sub, it's very clear and detailed. Also compact and nicely put together.

    Anyone into classic cars

That Starion and the RS1600i, very nice and I bet you wish you hung on to the RS now. Did the Saab Thing myself for a bit with a couple of 9-3 Aeros (2.0 and 2.8V6) which were nice, but not really classics like the 9000.

    Wanted Rockshox deluxe Springs

Got hold of a couple of old 95-2000 vintage Rockshox Deluxe Shocks. I need some springs for them though. Either a 650x1.50 or 750x1.50 (prefer the 650 really). Anyone got any? They seem to measure 90mm x 46mm

Muddy Fox Prestige 1988 the £5k one.

As they were transitioning from Araya to a Taiwanese builder in 1989 it's likely that a catalogue ltd edition bike would have been an early pre-prod bike and could have used an Araya frame rather than the new Taiwanese built ones. I do agree though that the bike being discussed here is the 1988...

Stopping Smoking - wish me luck!!

I had a similar experience time wise, although I never got to 40 a day, I was 20ish and for the last 5-10 years handrolled. I can only hope I am in a similar position lung wise when I get to 56. It's 12 years ago next month that I stopped, 20 a day to 0 overnight and I've never touched one since.

Retro MTB Ride, Surrey Hills, October/November 2018 - VIDEO

Would be interested if I'm free for sure. Would be mildly terrifying riding a retro rig after riding a modern fs 29er pretty much exclusively for 2 years now.

    Rock hoppers any good?

I had a 1991 comp, a decent bike and not what I’d have called a gateway or entry (that’s the hard rock IMO), it was a great bike.

    Muddyfox Courier - project

That's a rare one that. It's the MF version of the Tushingham B52 (precursor to Orange) where they apparently split dev costs and MF went with Shimano group on the Courier rather than Suntour. That looks in good condition and as you noted just needs the correct stem and a tidy up.

Thanks to the staff team for the 'new' Retrobike

It's a bit of a shock to the system but we'll all get used to it. Definitely needed for various reasons. Good to see that forum software can look current and not dated. Even though so much is on Faceballs these days the older medium of forums is still better for hobbies like this so it's good to...

    Anyone identify this?

The 89 xl I found didn’t so I’d wager that the 88 didn’t either. But the 89 has fastback stays and this one is shot in. Can’t find any pics of the 88 in decent quality https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1989-emmelle-cortina-xl-reworked-revamped-frog-to-prince.294261/

    Anyone identify this?

1988 emmelle cortina possibly. Any of the components exage trail? The cortina had a cromoly frame with exage trail parts. The smoke finish had a hint of purple more than the db ascent.

I wish I'd hung on to that

Re: Re: Had the Mk1 16v CRX, rebuilt after it was crashed, weighed nothing was a bit of a handful but loved it. Wish i'd have kept that along with my MG Maestro.

electric van and when to make the change?

Re: Re: I'm under no illusion about electric vehicles, however it's pretty difficult to swim against the tide when the tide is swamping you. The fact is that she won't need a new van for at least 2 years and by that time the tax on a small ICE van is likely to be pricing us towards electric...

electric van and when to make the change?

Re: Re: What do you mean? I'll take 3! In all seriousness though when my wife needs a new dog walking van it's likely that electric will be a serious consideration as her mileage per day is low and charging it will only ever be overnight so a small Nissan NV or the Vauxhall (her current old...
