    95 DBR WCF pics

Happy Birthday to my bike! While it's not in original spec anymore (sorry to the retro purists out there) I bought it 15years to the day. I won a race (under 16s) the next day and snapped my right arm while cycling back to the car park to get changed straight after. It's ok though...

    95 DBR WCF pics

I agree. When I was XC racing back in the late 90s I used to have a pair of 97 yellow/black Judy SLs and the straight bars with XTR v brakes on the front but that all went for the current build. Risers and chunky forks and all the rest of the mods I made have turned it into a very fun "ride...

room for a newbie to this retro malarky? It's only a 1.30 min train ride from King's Cross and I am dying to get out for a proper spin... How long do you guys ride for and what proprtion of your "ride" will be spent faffing and oggling at each others hardware ?

You can see why Diamond Back went for the paint over option... the bonds are none to pretty :? I like the industrial stripped down look of the build, it's a cool looking machine.

thanks guys, some good suggestions jimjim2012. I'm never going to go fully rigid, I saw a picture of one of these bikes that had a rigid fork and had hit a huge hole and the whole downtube/Head tube lug was destroyed! It was on ebay... in it's sorry state! There's also 2 other issues with...

1991 Grundig World cup - Tomac on drops

This video has a few little shots of Tomac ripping it up riding in his drop bars.... and winning. Real old school! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVvEKRNVKsQ How did he possibly think those bars were going to benefit his ride?

    FS: Controltech Seatpost 27.0 - £40 posted

Is there any layback on the post or is it dead straight. It's hard to see in that pic, looks like there is a little bit.... I'm fairly interested in this. Been looking for a black alloy Ritchey WCS in 27.0 with no luck for quite a while... Does anyone know if they can still be got anywhere?

    My, Kona Cindercone 90, Kilauea 93, Parkpre Pro 825 , Amp B3

lovely bikes. Thanks for sharing! I used to dream about getting a 93 kilauea but at the time could only afford a cinder cone. Also a two tone but with a dark green rear triangle. Frame was Tange Prestige which was amazing but did start to feel "tired" after about 3 years of hard riding...

    My 1995 DBR WCF vertex

ditto ryan, I like the build. I have the same approach to the rebuild of mine, get strong parts and go for it because this frame is very rewarding and capable, even when it gets rough. I put a pic here.. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 598#620598 With racing in mind, my only...

    '95 DBR WCF Vertex

Here's a pic of mine. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/mai ... 6aa2d4f394 a work in progress. In the past 3 years I have rekindled my taste for the dirt and picked up one of my old steeds which hadn't seen too much action since the late nineties. First things to replace were the...

    1994 Kona Fire Mountain

I love the old thumb shifters on this bike. My first proper mtb was a 1993 Cinder Cone with the LX thumb shifters. They were sweet. I'd love to get a pair again actually, they were so simple...

Thanks Jango for the info on the BB! -much apreciated. -Only just though, cranks & bb are pretty shot after maybe 8yrs max of regular riding. I get your thinking but don't share it. If I could get a brand new pair of modern cranks and BB set up without too much hassle I'd go for it tbh...
