No, I never had such big tires on it. My biggest tire has 2.35" (Klein Death Grip). Never had tubeless tires on any of my bikes. I'm only collecting retro stuff. I don't use modern equipment. I don't like that modern china stuff.

It rides awesome. One of the best bikes I'd ever ridden. Most of the time I ride it on forest paths, gravel paths, easy terrain or tours. Tire width is 2.1". But the Conti Twister Supersonics look more like 1.9". On the Spinergys I had Hutchinson 1" slicks.

I like the GT Talera. Your Talera is in nice condition it seems. Nice colour also. I like it. A GT Talera was my first MTB my parents gifted me for Christmas 1991. Still have the frame in my basement.

To be honest, these bikes are a bit spongy. The rear end isn't particularly torsion-resistant and also not laterally stiff. But in easy terrain it works well and is not noticeable. But I like the look of it. To hell with lateral stiffness 😁 Regards, Olli

The weight of the stem is 236grams on my scale. But the clampsize is to large to fit 1 1/8 fork shafts. You need a shim for that also if you wanna put it onto an 1 1/8 inch shaft. Regards Olli
