    Smartphone mount, what type?

I use the Quadlock stem mount, it has a couple of o-rings that go round the tube. I mostly mount it on the bars, though, because the modern bike doesn't have a long enough stem and the tourer's stem is too steeply angled for me to see the phone. Wherever I put it, it stays put.

    Just discovered 'I-Spec' 🙁

I spent £20 on a new front brake, which I assume is Shimano's plan 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Just discovered 'I-Spec' 🙁

I did find a couple (Wolf, Problem Solvers), but nothing that cost less than the shifter. If you have any leads/links that would be great 🙂

    Just discovered 'I-Spec' 🙁

I set out to convert Boy the Younger's bike from 3x9 to 1x11 so he has less to worry about when riding, and the shifter I bought turned up with no way to clamp it to the bars. A bit of googling suggests this is a thing now? WTAF? I think I have to hope I can return the shifter and find one that...

Rear mudguard recommendation (MTB, 26", rim brakes)

When I was looking, I got the feeling that seat-stay fixing and rim brakes are mutually exclusive. I bought an old Crud 'Race' guard for the rim brake bike and a Mucky Nutz Mugguard for the disc-equipped bike.

    Stem length / rise question

If you're hands are in the right place but you're getting wrist pain, then try changing angle your hands are at - I just changed the bars on my new Canyon for some Ritchey Kyote bars with 27.5° back sweep, and it's way more comfortable. No change to the reach.

    Stem length / rise question

I'm a little late to this, I know, but just noticed this bit in your post. I've realised just over the last year or so that I can cope with quite a wide range of reach and height to the bars if the sweep angle is right for my wrists. The Eureka moment was getting some On-One Geoff bars for my...

    Sold 1996 Marin Stinson (small/15.5") £70

I've decided to sell this. It's really nice but I have a lanes & tracks bike that means more to me than this one does. And it's actually a little small for me. It's in remarkably good condition; the only bit that isn't great is the back wheel - axle and spokes have some corrosion, as per the...

Looks nice. Are the seat post and BB not stuck? Any damage beyond the usual scratches?

1995 Marin Team Issue seatpost size?

My 95 Pine is 27.0mm. I know this because i measured it wrong and bought a 26.8mm post. One layer of coke-can later and it fits perfectly.

    ** Stooge Mk6 **

The bit that's holding me back is that I need to do a budget build and can't find affordable wheels. New ones are expensive and finding the right axle size second-hand is a time-consuming pain.

    ** Stooge Mk6 **

Nice, will watch this with interest. I only discovered Stooge recently and I'm currently trying to convince myself I don't need a Rambler.

    Switchblade with bent bosses?

I reckon reckon they're correct, because it means the brake boss is in line with the wheel rim rather than being at an angle.
