    I’ve been doing up my two 1981-82 Motobecane Super Sprints. Although I’ve only just finished them I’ve used the one, albeit infrequently, for the last few years with no issues.

    The same has happened on mine. Also the plastic setting for the H & L adjustment screws has chipped. I suppose 35-40 year old plastic will deteriorate. It doesn't seem to affect the gear changing though.

    Nisi. That doesn't ring a bell with me. Are they the manufacturers? There were some letters on the green and red logo but they have worn too much to make them out.
