    Retro fork light mount

Re: Oh very nice. How easy is the Led to fit? Can get hold of an Everready or Pifco light at my local Bike Charity place. How waterproof are they though, seem to remember not very.

    Retro fork light mount

Re: Mmmm...yes, indeed! Ok, might give up on that and just leave empty bracket in place for retro look. Trying to free up handlebar space so could possibly get this for fork crown/mudguard attachment. http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/product ... nt-bracket

    Retro fork light mount

Re: Thanks. Thought of just a simple tube bolted onto thread and plugged to stop water getting in. Not sure of what and where to start though :?

    Nail Varnish

Re: Cheers folks. Thing is that it's my Coventry Eagle metallic green as here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=349829 Found a metallic polish about two shades too dark but have some white to add and blend the correct colour. Her indoors is an artist so that helps :D Then...

    Nail Varnish

Is nail polish/varnish safe for chips on steel frames? I know a lot of people use it and I've got some green metallic and clear polish for my bike. Just wondered if it will do anything to the frame in the long run. Anyone have negative results? Thanks

Re: Thanks Steve, Going to and from the idea of putting all new bits on :? The thing is, all the hubs I've seen are 130mm wide so I'd be going down the cold setting route anyway? Anyway, I'm getting a quote or two for wheels with freehub, brakes, cassette and chain. Have found out from...

Jamie, could you possibly check on the bike and post a pic of the Reynolds sticker please. Mine has mostly come off and trying to identify the exact tubing spec. I can see that it mentions stays and forks but don't know whether it's 531st or c etc. My sticker is red and orange and like a...

Re: Ok, I've decided on the refit. Going to LBS who fitted my new front mech. Getting new 700c wheels with new hub and cassette and dual pivot caliper brakes. In black, goes well with the green frame paint and the original Simplex stuff was black too. If I get it done with him, he'll widen the...

Weinmann 730 long drop caliper brakes

Have a 27" wheels of steel road bike and looking to upgrade to 700c alloys. Only thing I would need is longer drop bolt on side-pull caliper brakes. Ones on just now are Weinmann 730 short drop but I know they did long drop. Anyone have them? Cheers

    Coventry Eagle retro fit

Re: Thanks, yes it is. There are the same holes in front forks. Best way to fill the numerous chips/scuffs I've found. None of them drastic but possibly showing brown primer rather than rust. Was thinking clear nail varnish? That way I can monitor the area for rust and give protection?
