    I remember doing 4 paper rounds & saving my money for my 1st real MTB!! that was the courier, I had the yellow paw print disc covers aswell...moved onto the explorer next, ah memories!!

    That was my first proper MTB after my Puch Ranger. A mate & I saved up all our paper round cash for nearly a year to buy bikes, he bought a rockhopper!. We used to get stopped by the Rozzers all the time to see what the bikes were!

    I had that explorer, superb bike at the time...biopace chain rings,suntour roller cam brakes....ah memories I saw the prestige at a bike show, very nice..I think they only made 2 or 3, 1 I know was a competition prize

    My friend bought that Hardrock at the same time I bought my Muddy Fox Explorer, plenty of conversations over Shimano's U brake & Suntours Rollercams on the Muddy Fox over what was best etc etc..Fond memories seeing the Hardrock again

    Saracen's early strange brake position Was this ever popular

    I had the Suntour roller cams like this on my 87 Muddy Fox Explorer. I always remember them being very 'on' or 'off' brakes - meaning not good control..also under the chain stays they always got clogged in mud etc...not the best of designs.
