Prices are indeed nuts in bike shops now. My LBS charges £21 to change a spoke! :oops: FFS!!! Anyhow, could I fit a 27.5" fork that takes the same 26" wheel? I know it would throw the angles out a bit, but the missus doesn't do jumps and stuff. She just plods along! 😌

Sorry for the late reply. You're correct on all accounts regarding availability and high prices, but unfortunately, I've been stung with second hand goods and just can't take the chance. Thanks anyhow and thank you (and others!) for your info regarding what forks to buy. ;)

Re: Thanks for the reply. I won't buy second hand, so it's a new set I'm looking for. I'll take a butcher's. :wink: Is it easy enough to get the forks to match the headset? Is there a seal of some kind that makes the forks sit nicely/keeps out muck? Sorry, MTBing is not my thing! :facepalm:

I've just been out to the garage and took these pics of the blocks and rim. As you can see there is little wear and tear. I'll clean 'em up before posting. They're just full of dust. The bearings are good and run smooth. Obviously, the Shimano Deore hubs run smoother than the Sun Rim hubs, but...
