No, you're right. Should be chrome but looks like somebody has painted over with gold. Looks smooth as well so either the chrome underneath is sound or it's been sanded down. A bit ominous.

Dawes Galaxy's have an almost cult following in the UK....often see them on ebay for £350 GBP. It's in great condition and the imichrome decal is intact so why not
