Wouldn't use mine seriously off road, but with tan walls and fast rolling on tarmac they do a job on a retro bike that doesn't venture into the dirt .

I really enjoy my Giant Anthem 29er , but there is something special about a steel retro non suspension bike . In fact the 94 Kona lava Dome is heading to Thetford tomorrow (-:

splashbacks for me too, in 1.8 , front and rear. . Not used them in wet claggy conditions though. What's a good back up tyre for the wet?

Been to Arnhem a number of times but will definitely check this out next time. If you live in the East of England there's an overnight ferry to the Hoek , then it's a 100 mile ride. Mates have done it on road bikes and they allow an easy 8 hour ride, flat and lots of cycle paths.
