    Eroica Britannia

Funnily enough, I've just had a reminder from Google photos of the previous times we did EB. Bakewell was a great location as the trails were lovely limestoney and varied, plus it was centrally located in the UK (and luckily close-by for family to pop along). Shame it's now going to be at the...

    MacRetro Newbies.... Introduce yourself here:

Hey thanks, sounds like a plan. Riding seems to be mostly commuting at the moment so it'll be nice to head away from the traffic. When I get a chance I tend to just ride Pentlands or (more likely) Glentress, so nothing new for you folks. Will keep'em peeled. :)

    MacRetro Newbies.... Introduce yourself here:

Hi there, I could probably make it over to Fife, if not too early a start of an evening. TBH all my bikes are getting on a bit these days, but retrowise I've an '88 Marin Palisades Trail, a '92ish Hardrock and a '93 Kilauea. Prob be on the Kona tbh. Keep me posted as I'm in North Edinburgh...

    Kona colour question

Hi there, One of my ever-growing collection has puzzled me. Its a Kona cindercone, looks like a '95 or '96 (I had a '95 Cindercone new) and the frame has the same detailing. Thing is its grey metallic which has thrown me. Looks original as its scuffed to hell! Anyone know if this was a stock...

FS: Specialized Rockhopper - 18" ('92 or '93 not sure)

Hi there, I've been ordered to have a shed clearout, as n+1 has got out of control. Even my kids are telling me off and they're both under 9. So I'm selling my steel Specialized Rockhopper plus a few other bits I'd better list separately. Its red, its original except for the V-brakes (including...

    FS: Kaffenback 2 Frame/Forks/Headset - Black (Medium)

Hi there, I'm selling my two week old satin black Kaff frame/forks and a few other nice bits. I just really don't get on with the geometry of road frames so I'm back to the old and trusty Kilauea for my commute until the Inbred frame arrives. I had planetx fit a nice red anodised FSA MX headset...

    ##_WTD for Kona build: stem/headset/rear wheel_##

Hi there, Looking for some bits for my old Cindercone build, my parts box needs replenishing: • Short-ish stem (80-100mm), expander not ahead-style, 1"1/8 • Threaded headset, pref Impact • Tidy 8sp rear wheel Emphasis is on cheap not flash, although cheap and flash would be fine :) Howie...

New old toys - Midlife crisis?

Hi there, Thanks fella I always preferred the turquoise of my 95 Cindercone but I'm sure it'll grow on me heh! I've got some Onza HO ti pedals somewhere in the shed, which can go on it too to replace the temp V8s. Can't remember which colour elastomer was which though? Also my old flexstem if I...

New old toys - Midlife crisis?

Hi there, Relatively new on here so thought I'd add a couple of pics of some of my bikes, the ones the Mrs knows about ;) Going through something of a midlife crisis; my friends are all off buying old sportscars but I can't stretch to that plus bikes are a good bit cheaper and easier to fix...

    Kilauea - tweaks?

Haha yeah time to get a grip! I blame over a decade of being spoilt by modern geometry and suspension ;)

    Kilauea - tweaks?

Just added a complete original Kilauea to the shed, my misses is going to go spare when she finds out... Having ridden it down the road, I can hardly believe I used to ride these things offroad at all. Scary low speed handling despite the newer V-brake additions.. Question is, how can I make...
